Frank Sellers, Partner

Frank Sellers is a trial lawyer who focuses on representing citizens and businesses facing criminal investigations and prosecutions. In addition to criminal defense, Frank has a growing civil trial practice, where he places a heavy emphasis on complex, high-profile cases. Frank has earned a reputation as a knowledgeable, skilled trial lawyer, who enjoys helping clients facing big trials — whether criminal or civil.

Since beginning his practice, Frank has represented people charged with all types of offenses and from all professional backgrounds, including nurses, teachers, police officers, doctors, lawyers, and even a district judge. He has won Not Guilty verdicts in cases ranging from DWI (both breath test and blood test) all the way to capital murder.

Frank’s work has earned him numerous legal honors. From 2019 – 2022, his peers have voted him in the Top 100 SuperLawyers Rising Stars in the entire state (top 100 lawyers in the top 2.5% of lawyers under 40). Frank was named to the Rising Stars list every year from 2015 – 2022. Since graduating from the Rising Stars list, Frank has been named a SuperLawyer every year since 2022. He is AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which means other lawyers and judges rank him at the highest level of ethical and professional excellence.

Frank frequently presents to criminal defense lawyers, prosecutors, and judges around the state about various criminal trial and appellate issues. Before joining Westfall in Fort Worth, Frank was president of the Lubbock Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association. On a statewide level, he served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association from 2014 – 2020.

Personally, Frank was raised in Richardson, Texas. After graduating high school, he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Texas A&M University. Frank then went on to earn his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. While at Tech, Frank was an editor on the Law Review, a member of the Board of Barristers, on numerous national mock trial teams, and was the president of the Texas Aggie Bar Association. He also received the award for the highest grade in legal research and writing.
